Nice article, thanks for the link.
Had to laugh at this sentence: "Besides competitions on the East Coast, she has traveled to Virginia and to the Netherlands."
Ah, yes, the far off exotic country of...Virginia. ;)

Thanks for the link. It was a fun read.
Had to laugh though. After complaining about her finish at sectionals, she said it is ok with her if she doesn't make the 2006 OLYS - because, after all, she is only skating for herself. :D

Nice article. It is a bit of a bummer that Amy didn't make nationals, or at least finish a couple spots higher. At the very worst, she should have been 1st alternate. I don't usually complain about judging, but this year's Easterns for Junior Ladies was s-c-r-e-w-y! Outside of top 3, anyway. Megan Stewart did a nice job and does deserve her spot, especially considering her fantastic short program, but Amy certainly was better than 7th place. It's too bad she fell in the SP on her 3z, if she had done a clean double she might have made the final group-- hard to say.
You know, I was talking to a man after regionals who has worked in the sport for the past 10 years and seems to be pretty in tune with the wheelings and dealings of the sport, and I was mentioning to him the top contendors for Junior Ladies. When I mentioned Amy Bobrick, he said...who's she? I said, oh the one who's been injured for a really long time. He immediately knew she wouldn't make it past sectionals, even though I thought she would because I had heard she was a really strong skater. Apparently judges have reservations about rewarding skaters on the sectional level who are chronically injured-- I'm not quite sure why that is. Hopefully Amy can manage to avoid all injuries for next year, and with a solid year of competition behind her, have a little more support when she skates well. She didn't have the skate of her life at sectionals, but she skated quite a but stronger than some who got placed ahead of her. I'm looking forward to seeing her next year! Outsanding quality this young lady has!
