it was prelude to the afternoon of a fauwn(sp?). she wore her dress from 2001 short program. it was simply beautiful!!! i think its her best LP ever!!! she only attempted 3 triples because of the format and did spread eagles/spirals/inna bauers in place of the other jumps. as much as i love the program, she is in horrible shape. in the SP it was her worst ever. fell on 3lutz, double the 3flip, and singled the 2axel. then in the interpretive free she fell again on the 3lutz, hit the 3flip, and double the 3toe. but the program is beautiful

Angela does skate nice and I like the program. What I don't like is the lack of facial expression. She always looks the same. I always get the feeling that she is going to burst into tears. She needs to choreograph moments in her program where she should smile and just change her expression. That does not seem to come natually to her. I think that would help the program a lot.

She skated it in the Canadian Open (aired in the U.S. on Saturday). Lovely program, but then I could just sit and watch Angela practice her laybacks for hours and still be perfectly happy. ;)

is the canadian open and the sears open the same thing?
Yes, it's Sears Canadian Open.

Angela's Faun was an utterly lovely program. I could see Nichol's touch in it. I hope she can put it all together at Nationals.

Oh, cocanuts, I think Sasha's Romeo & Juliet is an IF (interpretive free) and not a LP while Angela is doing Afternoon of a Faun as an IF and as a LP. Rach is Sasha's LP this year. Somebody correct me if I am wrong here.
I'm not saying that Sasha can't change her mind sometime during the year, though, but Romeo & Juliet will have to be re-worked to get all the triples in.

If Angela is able to get her jumps back and from what we've seen so far from Sasha, those of you who have seen Angela's Long Program, who would you put in first place were you the judge?

If all the top ladies were clean - I'd probably have Angela in 5th - behind Sasha, Michelle, Sarah, AP. There's more that's at fault with her program than just the jumps... Angela's nowhere near doing 3/3 combos in competition either.
I just rewatched her Sears performance - 5th or possibly lower - assuming Jenny Kirk or some other girl isn't at their best.
Problems with the LP - spins are too slow, not enough revolutions. Speed in the program is lacking... bad music choice probably not helping out here. You don't get much variations of speed and tempo. Footwork is easy. No spiral sequence either? IMO - a truly forgettable program.
AP's Madame Butterfly program is filled with difficulty - right up to the end when she does the Russian split followd by 3-flip soon after. She'll easily get the placements ahead of Angela this year for 1st alternate.

Adrian, I have to disagree with you about Angela's music choice. I think it is a wonderful choice for her. Angela is not a tension skater. She doesn't switch from highs and lows very easily. Instead her style is soft, steady, and lyrical and Afternoon of a Faun suits her very well. I guess each skater has to make the most of what they got, and I think Faun makes the most of Angela's style.
Oh, but I love AP, so of course, I have to agree with everything you said about her! She's one of my faves.

annm72 - they need to consider re-cutting the music - I'm not sure if there's actually any highlights, but a program at just one pace probably isn't going to get the best presentation marks. I would almost lump Fumie's Swan Lake in the same category as Faun - but Fumie's music picks up towards the end of the program.
Not sure if the Sears version is the final version of Angela's Faun for a freeskate - it looks to need quite a few changes to be a freeskate (missing spiral sequence, jumps, etc). I'd imagine a chereographer like Lori Nichols isn't going to neglect the need for changes of tempo in the music and other aspects (while still building an overall program that suits the style of the skater).
I might add - despite it being an old program - I much preferred Angela's SP to her IP/LP.
Another addition - her arm movements could improve quite a bit too.

if everyone skates clean, i think the USFSA will put kwan first, cohen second and sarah third. then angela, AP, and jenny. But anythings possible. Sarah is getting higher marks this year than last year in comparison to performance level, but kwan has always been a judges favorite, and now sasha is dominating so who knows. but beyond them i think if angela skates clean she will get 4th place. last year she landed 3 triples, fell, and doubled 3 triples and AP hit 5 triples, doubled one, and singled another and only got one judge to put her ahead of angela, and jenny landed 6 triples and had a 5-4 split with AP and no one put her ahead of angela. i think its safe to say that jenny will place 6th, and AP has a chance for 4th, bhut angela is the favorite for that spot if she skates well.

on the sashafans site it said that she was making romeo and juliet her second LP for the grand prix final so i was hoping it would be her LP because i like it better than rochmoninov. i can see were the jumps will go and since she has 2 3/3's, she doesnt need as many jumping passes as most

I like the R/J program much better then her current LP. I wonder why they did not use that in the first place. That R/J program could be a masterpiece. Sasha really feels that music.
