After going thru my taped gala from this afternoon (couldn't be home earlier) some things I've wondered about...
- Is it really (as commentator Daniel Weiss quoted him) a "last test before the Russian nationals" for Evgeni Plushenko to skate his SP and LP (partially) in a show? And (anyone who knows better might correct this) without trying a quad?
- Why do the top German pairs (free style and dance - W&L and the new Kierkgaard&Jeschke) always have injuries or in this case the flu when I'd be able to watch them skate?
- Where did Jennifer Robinson get her costume from? Cause I've seen Jill Trenary skating with this green one her boots number...
- Simple question about two routines - can somebody give me the titles? Kazakova & Dmitriev did something where she's a doll and Krylova & Ovsiannikov did a routine with a stick to very unusual music (at least in the first part of the routine). That music sounds for me like Sami music (people who live in Northern Scandinavia).
For those interested - also on tv were: Germans Silvio Smalun (with a part of his LP), Mandy Valentine (short routine and the connections between the routines - she was "a young girl who dreams about skating", beginning and end she sleeps in a bed in the midst of the mountains round Davos 8O ), Peter Liebers (14-year old junior who is - if Mr. Weiss quoted it correctly according to Alexei Mishin "the most promising junior in the whole world" ). I won't comment about Fusar-Poli & Margaglio - they just don't skate a style I like. The best surprise was the replacement for the missing German pairs - Kovarikova & Novotny skated to "Music" by John Miles.
