Nancy Kerrigan's been working as a commentator for Lifetime since the beginning of this season, but since I can't get this channel myself, I don't really have an opinion on how good she is. :) She also hosted a local show broadcast in New England called "Front Row With Nancy Kerrigan" around 1997/98--I've only seen one episode of this show where Nancy interviewed Paul Wylie and Kurt Browning, but I thought she did a pretty good job.
As for what NHK stands for, I think NHK is the Japanese network which originally broadcasts the NHK trophy.

I don't think she's the worst commentator I've ever heard, but I don't think she's that great either. Her delivery, enunciation, and diction have improved big-time since I last saw her interviewed, but she still sounds rehearsed to me at times. I think she would need a lot more experience if she were to try live color commentary, because she never sounds very spontaneous at all. But, I'm a journalism major, so I'm probably being pickier than some of you. FWIW, I took TV Production at school last year and had to do basically what she does- it's harder than it looks! I've also been interviewed about skating on the local news, and it's hard to remember everything- look into the camera, don't let your voice start to go up (most people do that when they're nervous), and don't try to ad-lib (I'm horrible about that last one). I would love to be a skating commentator eventually, but I know it takes a lot of practice to be comfortable with it. Nancy's improved so much that I think she has the potential to be decent at it.

I have watched all the Lifetime coverage this year with half an ear, doing homework at the same time, but I've been pleasantly surprised by Nancy. She seems better than I expected, and I haven't been turned off by anything she's done as commentator, which is not true of some commentators.

i am highly impressed with Nancy's commentating. this is probably because i remember how awkward she always appeared giving interviews. she seemed so shy of talking in front of the camera, and is the last person who i thought would ever end up commentating!

Wait, I don't think Kerrigan did the commentary for the GP series. She was the host of the Lifetime coverage. Peter, Susie and Terry are the ones who did the skating commentary during the competitions. Kerrigan was there to introduce different segments and do some fluff stuff and interviews some skaters. I think the only time she did commentary is during NHK dance portion.

Yes, Nancy was the host and didn't do the actual skating commentary. She did do some interviewing though. Like Duane, I was surprised how well-spoken she was since I don't really think of her as having a spokesperson type of personality. I thought she handled herself very well and looked gorgeous by the way! I liked her press lift today with Peter Carruthers too! :)

I think Nancy has done a very good job with her pieces at the GP events. She probably had to endure more media attention than almost any skater, so I think she understands how NOT to get into someone's face or make rude or hurtful comments. She looked beautiful and dressed so appropriately.Kudos to her. Hope to see more of her.

Ditto, I also didn't expect a lot from Nancy, since she often did seem uncomfortable in front of the camera. So it's been a pleasant surprise how well she's done. She does indeed look gorgeous too. I'm glad to see this working out for her.

I was surprised too, as I hear she is very shy...but so is Bruce Springsteen, so I'm told, LOL! Its a craft, a skill, can be learned.
She was good...didn't say anything to turn me off either, and she was pleasant, down to earth. Nice surprise.

NHK stands for Nippon Hoso Kyokai, the Japan Broadcasting Corporation.
