Sasha-She won this one hands down. She will be very tought to beat at Nationals if she skates like this. She had some very nice jumps. I still think Rach lacks some of the spark that her short program has. I agree with Dick about the footwork though.

Sarah-Nice program, but I don't think it is a great program. She hasn't had much time, so it will probably get better. It was a little rough, and I think she is going to have to work really hard between now and Nationals.

Irinia-Well there isn't anything to say other than she was awful. She should have been behind Ann Patrice for sure, and I probably would have had her behind Kirk. Those mistakes were very disruptive to the prorgram, so I thought the presentation marks were way too high.

Ann Patrice-Nice job. Not great but good. She has wonderful style, but I feel she lacks excitement and doesn't really feel the music.

Jenny-Love the new program. It did look rough around the edges, but it was an improvement. I think if she works hard it could be a really good program by Nationals.

I only caught the tail end of thebrodcast and saw Sasha and Sarah.

Sasha has really grown on me in the last year. While I do not care for ome of the comments she has made to the media in the past, she has developed into an exquisite skater. There is a lightness and beauty in her skating that it terrific to watch. Tarasova has made the difference here.

As for Sarah. . .well, the program was okay, but I was distracted by her hair and costume which I thought were less than flattering. It's an okay program and once she gets comfortable with it I am sure I'll like it more. But the hair and costuming. . .not so sure. Last season she physically looked the part of an Olympic champ, which like it or not is a part of the total package. I didn't get that sense today. She looked sloppy. Perhaps a better hairstyle and a different color costume. Sasha had the physical package today and Sarah did not.

Just my thoughts.

I thought the ladies skated well. Irina though was definitely not there. I feel that she should've been in 5th or 6th place. I mean it was very obvious all the glaring pops and singling and doubling of the jumps. Why don't the judges mark all skaters fairly? Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike her. I admire her jumps but it isn't fair to the rest of the field. Look at the men's results: Yagudin finished in 5th place and he's the Olympic champ. The judges didn't give him any gifts. Why Irina then?
