What kind of skates does she skate in. I was just curious!

Her boots are Klingbeil's (custom made in NY--the company charges a fixed price for all boots and they are custom made for your feet). I know, because Mr. Klingbeil showed me her signature on the "chair" (a Klingbeil tradition when you get your new boots) when I signed it picking up my own new boots in September!!! Sarah Hughes also wears Klingbeil's, and her autograph is there, too. In fact, I think she started the "chair signing" tradition several years ago. Its a smaller company, and they don't do a line of stock boots like Reidell, SP Teri, etc., so that's why Sasha and Sarah don't have a boot endorsement. The boots are fantastic--I love mine to pieces.

Mr. Klingbeil seems to like both Sasha and Sarah a lot and commented to my husband that he thought Sasha would really "be something" this year!

Actually, Klingbeils has just started offering a stock boot, I don't know anything about them though. I love my custom Klingbeils also. You can tell a Klingbeil boot by the extra hook set back between the top two hooks, and the stock boots have it too. It's safe to assume that any elite skater in Klingbeils has the customs.

This is a lil off topic but still relevant
- I have Sp Teris and they were almost impossible to break in. It took me maybe 3 to 4 months to get comfy in them and even know I have a permenantly swollen ankle (landing leg). There are obviously not custom made. I was thinking about those custom skates! I mean it would probably be easier to break in a pair thats already the shape of you foot. So just in advance I was wondering if these kingbeils are the right way to go. Or is there a better custom supplier out there? Thanks a bundle!

Thanks, dbny, I realize after re-reading my post that it was a bit misleading. They do make a stock boot that costs about $100 plus dollars less than the custom. Its meant for the intermediate level skater. They are still a relatively small company, but an incredible one.

My Klingbeil's were a godsend. I have a very narrow heel, but a wide forefoot, so I have these cute "pudgy" toed boots now that fit like heaven.

Oh, for trivia buffs: The "Chair" is a wonderful, very worn "throne" on a platform where Mr. Klingbeil's hands are at your foot level. I hope I'm not reversing the two, but Sarah's signature is on the wall of the chair to the left, I believe, and Sasha's, um, well, I was sort of sitting on it!!! My siggy actually went into a space near hers!!!! I think he also does AP's boots, and they definitely make Emily Hughes' too.

Klingbeil has offered a stock boot for awhile now, my daughter wore them as a juvenile lady back in 1998. She also tried the custom fit boots and did not have good luck with them. As with any boot, it is all in the fitting!

my non-custom klingbeil boots were very easy to break in.

Ive had them about two years.
they hold up very well.
