Sasha has a new LP to Romeo and Juliet (I'm assuming for Grand Prix Final):

This will be so gorgeous! Do we know which music she is using? Tchaikovski or Prokoviev?

How interesting! I look forward to seeing it. Do you suppose that if it generates a good response she will continue to develop it for the future (This season or next). Is there any word on that? I mean, nothings impossible, even for this season - skaters have gotten completely new programs later in the season and been successful with them. I keep thinking of Jenny Kirk's new LP last year at nationals.
Wow, two new programs in one season. The source from Skating, Inc. seemed very impressed by the choreography, he/she did not imply that it was bare bones at all. Sasha's been a busy girl!

I'm a big fan of the Romeo & Juliet music from Tchaikovski, Prokoviev, and Nina Rota's movie version, so I'd be happy with any decision she made. However, I must admit I'm a bit more in favor of Nina Rota's version so I'm definitely thrilled to hear she chose this version. :)

Hmmm, I wonder if it goes well at the GPF whether she'll switch and skate R&J at Worlds? She can peak at Nationals with Rach and then maybe peak at Worlds with R&J.

My bet is this is the first fully Tarasova choreographed program for Sasha, and I cannot WAIT to see it!!

Oh boy! Because Tarasova is inspired by the particular personality of her skaters, and its AWESOME. They never look like "Tarasova" skaters to me, they look like more fully realized skaters to me.

Tarasova is to skating as Mae Wang is to fashion, no cookiecutter.

It sounds like it's an IP not a LP.

I don't know either if this will be an IP or a LP, but what I can tell you is that she skated it as her interpretive program at this weekend's Sears Open in Red Deer, Alberta. It was absolutely beautiful and mesmerizing, and the audience was almost completely silent throughout the skate. Because of the limitations re jumps, etc. at this competiton, it did not have many of the technical aspects that would be required for a LP (and that could certainly be adjusted quickly). However, the impact was impressive even without them - the sure sign of a truly gifted skater (remember Kurt's Nyah?). The only thing I did not care for was her costume, which was white, a color that certainly doesn't look great on her and seemed a bit too stark for the theme. I think she may be the female version of Yags!

P.S. When Sasha was interviewed, she said that they had just put this program together starting on Monday before the competition! Can that really be true? Just imagine what it will be like when she has a ton of miles on it!
