Kwan at Worlds

I think Michelle Kwan can do anything she wants. Personally, I'm a little annoyed at reading posts from many other boards saying Michelle Kwan shouldn't be at worlds. She's earned the right to be there, and its ultimately her choice to go or not. She obviously is not being held up by any judges as was pointed out that she's lost to irina 7 of last 9 times. However, the two times when she did beat Irina at worlds, was quite deserving and no one can take that away from Michelle. I may be mistaken but perhaps people dont like the idea of Michelle going to worlds because it causes a potential threat of their favorite not being able to win a world title. Id love to see michelle win a 5th world title, but if she doesnt, which is perfectly fine may i add, she will no doubt display the grace, elegance, and poise she's always had, embodying what being a champion truly means.

I want Michelle to be happy with herself and not have someone telling her she should step down. She doesn't need to step down at all.

I always hate it when posters say that so and so shouldn't go to a competition. What business is it of anyone else? If Michelle, Michael Weiss, or any other skater chooses to go to a competition in which they have qualified, it is up to them, and we should support them. I have more respect for the skaters who constantly try to better themselves and achieve more.

:roll: I don't understand that attitude either, Lucy and Beth. No matter how long a skater has been skating, if he/she qualifies for the competition, then he/she should go. That's the way it is with all sports. And not only did Michelle qualify for Worlds, she qualified in a BIG way with a beautiful performance at Nationals. You go, girl!!:):):)

I will always like her skating even if it is on tape. And keep in mind, my two favorite skaters are still my two favorites even though it would have been nice to see them win Olympic gold.

Michelle has had to work so hard to stay at the top - she seems to get more critism than other skaters IMO. I really hope she stays eligible for another 12 years!!! SO THERE! :P

But in all honestly - I respect that people have their opinions on skaters and not everyone has the same ones. But I would like to have one good solid reason why Michelle should not be eligible anymore. Tell ya what - I'll give you 2 reasons why she SHOULD be at the World Championships for every one that you give me. (generalized statement- i wasn't directing that to anyone in particular)
