Aussie Willy,
I was going to go, but then I got this new job. :( Your predictions? Mine are Miriam, Steffi, Jo but I want Miriam, Jo, Steffi....the rest is all fairly the same as every year! I REALLY think that Steffi should have to forfeight her junior position since she is skating seniors, I think once someone moves to seniors, that's it, they shouldn't skate junior any more.
I might be getting some sms updates (mainly senior men and womens which is later) since the website doesn't even have starting orders yet, I'll post them if I get them.
I'm interested in Stuart Beckingham's placing too (ACT) he's been doing okay in practices but really looks like he needs to relax. His jumps are great!
 here's to another national title for Miriam!!

Anital - got to agree with you about Miriam. She has shown some form already with the 2nd place at Karl Schaeffer Trophy. I really hope she wins.
I am barracking for two of your Victorian skaters - Daniela Romeo(Novice?) and Simone Sheeham (Primary). Daniela has been skating so well in practise and at an exhibition skate a couple of weeks ago and Simone is doing really well too. And both have pretty good presentation.
BTW - Congratulations on the job. I finished my driving instructor's course on Saturday so hopefully I can get some students soon.

Hi Aussie Willy,
I saw Miriam tonight, she's leaving Wednesday morning, she's skating and looking really well.
I'm also interested in Kacie Shelly and Jacinta Greenwood (both ACT- junior) who seem to be skating their best atm.
I have another new job too AW, starting in Feb! I got a grad position, cushy public service job with flex time!!
Well done on finishing you course!! :)
Also, do you know whats up with Anthony, he didn't accept SA, has withdrawn from NHK with a "knee injury" but is skating Nats??

Stephanie Zhang was 2nd in the Junior Ladies SP!
The Western Australian girl was well ahead of Stephi. Was Emelia that good or did Stephi have a bad skate?

I just want to mention two skaters from our rink.
Daniela Romeo came second in Intermediate Ladies and Simone Sheehan came 4th in Primary Ladies. I am so happy for these girls because with the limited facilities we have here in Victoria it is great they did so well.

Steffi won juniors.
kia, amelia skated well, but steffi has glandular fever, she apparently fainted after her program and wasn't sure whether to compete in seniors.
seniors so far, miriam, jo, steffi....go Miriam!
Thanks anital. I'm pleased to see Miriam did so well in the short. It was disappointing she missed out on the Olympics after she was skating so well last year so hopefully this year will be good for her.

Here's a timely, nice article (w/ photos) on Miriam Manzano, 27, by Barry Mittan:

Results are out! It's over! MIRIAM is going to Worlds! Yay!! I got my wish on the final placings for the women, Miriam, Jo, then Steffi. I don't know if a third placing was worth skating with glandular fever (which often can turn into chronic fatigue) for Steffi, if she won and got worlds, I'd understand a bit more, but 3rd after the SP should have been enough for her to know to withdraw.
The men, Anthony is no suprise, the kiwi did well, bit disappointed for our guy Stuart, but thems the breaks. It's over for another year. Sigh, missed going to the tiny bit of skating we had! Congrats to Miriam!
Thats sad for Stephi that she was sick. I'm pleased for Miriam and Anthony. Looking at the dance results. Trent and Natalie won easily over the Russian and his partner. He left Russia about the same time as Vitally Novikov Perhaps he will follow the same path and there will be another Russian on the partner search. With all the split ups in Russia there are now a lot of Russian girls for him to skate
