Does anyone ever notice when Sasha is in the Kiss & Cry she never says hi to NNN? I thought they were the best of friends when they were training together. I have to wonder if NNN is part of the reason Sasha left Mr. Nicks. Jill Trenary & Caryn Kadavy have both admitted that Carlo Fossi made training against each other very difficult. That is why Caryn left. Hmmm!!:(

From what I've heard, I've gotten the impression that these two simply grew apart as they got older. I don't think they were ever best friends in the first place. A lot of childhood friends don't end up being close when they're older--it's not that uncommon. Anyway, I can't imagine Sasha would have left Nicks for any reason relating to Naomi--Naomi could hardly be considered a rival at this point, when it's looking less and less likely she'll ever compete again.

oooh lets hear more dirt on the Kadavy/Trenary thing, I didn't know that. It's hard to think of rivalries when you didn't watch skating at that time. Anyone have more info?

IIRC - during the 2000 US Nats coverage they did a fluff piece about Sasha and Naomi training together. I guess rink buddies? ;)

Sasha says "Hi" to her best friend Christie (who skates pairs) and Tiffany (Steigler)

That was an interesting attempt at intrigue, but I think Sasha left for the reasons she said.

People will always try to "read between the lines" when a skater leaves a coach. I remember all the speculation, some by posters on this very thread, about the "real" reasons Michelle Kwan left Frank Carroll. I'm sure people will continue to speculate about Sasha's sudden departure, but in the end, only Sasha and her coaches know the real reasons.

Caryn left because she was retiring, she was planning on competing again after the olympics, but she had a ruptured ovarian cyst which hampered her training, I think that she was able to read the writing on the wall , and decided to go pro after all. With that being said, it was quite stressful for her to be training with Jill. I have always heard that Jill was not the nicest person out there, but this is all rumor, granted didn't she break up someone's marriage??

Be careful what you post, especially if it is inaccurate. Trenary and Kadavy got along fine until Jill went from being a Junior to a Senior skater and natural tension developed as they became the top two skaters at Broadmoor and Jill won the National title when Caryn had been the star first. There really was nothing to blame other than teenage girl competetiveness.

Jill did not break up Chris Dean's marriage to Isabelle Duchesnay either. The marriage was over before the two began dating. His marriage to Duchesnay was very short lived and he was either already divorced or in the process of it when he started seeing Jill. Not to mention that it was Jayne Torvill, a good friend of Jill's who set them up in the first place.

what did the writing say on the wall? "you arent good enough?!" i dont get what your implying there.
ive watched tapes of US Nationals from back then and it seemed that whoever had the better skate between jill & caryn would be 1st or 2nd in the country because they were basically of the same technical level, though jill was my favourite.

she had her ovarian cyst thing and was out of training for a while, I am not sure if she was in any shape to pull out a program to make worlds or anything . I think that it would have been tough to stay at that level for another 4 years. Jill was planning on doing it, and she was not able to . Who knows if it would have worked out for Caryn. I am sure that with the other talented skaters out there, Harding, nancy, Kristy, and Jill, I do think that it would have been hard to beat them. That is what I was implying...........sorry for the post....
