I noticed that Cynthia Phaneuf skated senior and won both program in Quebec Sectionals (qualifier for Nationals) and I am assuming she is planning to compete in Senior this year....After watching her skate in a JGP Event this year she remind me of the young USA Girls (I call them the baby ballerinas) with wonderful artistry and flexibility..she also seems very young
I remeber when Nicole Watt came on the scene in 2000 and the media went crazy over Canada's new found 'Tara Lipinski" (this was an actual quote from one of the commentators at Nationals) I am wondering if we should expect the same kind of reception for Phaneuf...she definately has more jump content than Watt did in 2000......
I am also wondering if there are any other young girls will extreme amount of Talent coming to Nationals this year? (i remember the fuss that was created with young sarah Hughes, Sasha Cohen and Noami Nari Nam in the US which prompted many skaters to move up the ranks at a quicker pace- perhaps for the media attention they would recieve)

if any one has any info on Phaneuf or any other young lady who is planning to compete in Senior Nationals please Post.....

The other one that is skating senior this season is Lauren Wilson. Although Joannie Rochette was supposed to compete on the senior GP this season, she's been out with injury. We will see a much stronger ladies team if all skate well...

Signe Ronka will also be skating in Senior Ladies. She's listed as having a bye through the Sr. Ladies event at COS Sectionals. I believe she will be the youngest senior lady this year, is she not?
