Sarah has an injury!

Sarah Hughes has missed a few performance on COI with a muscle pull in her hip flexor. I just hope this isn't two serious with the number of hip injuries ladies skater has had in the last few years, NNN, Tara, Deanna.

I suppose the upside here would be that unlike NNN, Tara and Deanna, Sarah has her Olympic Gold Medal already. She may actually decide to give it time to heal (if that's the injury), instead of disregarding it and skating on.

Can I ask how you know it is a hip flexor injury? Is this confirmed somewhere? Hip flexors can be serious, that's why I am asking.

The two versions going around are pulled muscle and hip flexor (not sure if its one or the other or both). And some speculation about her just taking time off the tour to attend her prom.

I guess we'll find out sometime or other. Maybe its nothing major.

If this is true, I imagine that she will persevere though, she is a remarkable person.

At COI in Greensboro, NC yesterday, it was announced that she wouldn't appear 'due to injury'. They didn't say what the injury was, though.

I believe I read that she also had prom the same night on a boat in NY. That may be why she decided to skip - especially if she had pulled a muscle in addition to wanting to go to prom. I'm not sure if this rumor is true though.

Sarah had always planned to go to the prom, so I don't think they would have said "injury" and left her listed on the cast list.

I hope it is not the dreaded hip flexor. That must be a really ugly injury. I am going with the stomach muscle rumor. It sounds better LOL!

OUCH, it seems that both single skater olympians are pushing themselves a little too hard after the olympics.
I hope it heals. I have never heard of a skater pulling those muscles.
