Wirtz and Wirtz Status? (Possible BC spoilers)

Does anyone know what the current status of W&W is following their withdrawl from Bofrost?

I was so eager to see them this year. I assume they have not fully recovered from an injury of some sort but haven't heard anything more detailed.

From what I've gathered in the news, they withdrew due to illness. That can mean many things: 1) one of them or both were ill, or 2), being second to last in the short program may have caused them to re-think their decision.

I'm not sure what they will do, but as a personal opinion, I knew when I heard they were coming back that it was not going to be easy. Langlois and Archetto have done well on the GP result-wise, Lariviere and Faustino have done not bad and the new team of Marcotte and Buntin have been causing a stir..There are 2 spots for Worlds this year for pairs, and Langlois and Archetto can bet that one of those spots is theirs..the other will be a fight between 3 teams.

It is listed in the Grand Prix standings that Wirtz & Wirtz are retired.

Under their total points is an R and according to the legend at the bottom
R stands for retired.

Reen, I take that retirement to mean that they retired from bofrost Cup in Germany, not that they have retired from skating.
