Here's a review from the NY Times (you have to be a registered reader):
http://www.nytimes.com/2002/11/08/arts/dance/08ICE.html
Wow! Ice Theater got reviewed by Jennifer Dunning, that's quite the accomplishment! Her review is more of a synopsis, it doesn't really offer a judgement on the performance, but nice to read her words about David Liu. I'd love to see Katherine Healy's piece, I bet it's gorgeous.

Here's the excerpt on Roman Serov, written by Jennifer Dunning, the NYT dance critic:
"One of the evening's most exciting points was the performance by Roman Serov of a competition solo choreographed by Viktor Kudriavtsev. Mr. Serov's dancing was powerful, delicate and fluid."
Katherine Healy choreographed an ensemble called "Through a Glass,
Darkly," which was "set to music by Saint-Saëns and dedicated to her
mentor, John Curry, ... a more ambitious piece that probed the
relationship between dance and ice-skating. The fine lead dancers
were Ms. Healy, Kevin Curtis and Breanne Scully, a standout for her
powerfully contained momentum."
It's great to see young and talented, eligible skaters like Curtis (6th in junior men at South Atlantic Regionals last month) and Scully (12th in
Novice ladies at North Atlantics) performing with ITNY. Scully is
member of the Jamestown (NY) Skating Club, ITNY's home base this past summer.
The final two ITNY Home Shows are tonight and Saturday at 7 PM,
Sky Rink, Chelsea Piers. Tickets are $20, $15 for senior citizens,
students, and groups of 10 or more. For tickets, please contact (212)
929-5811. Sky Rink is located at Pier 61, Chelsea Piers (22nd Street
and the Hudson River). Website: http://www.icetheatre.org/

Kevin Curtis is perfect for ensemble skating. I remember a program he did with Rob McBrien's group a couple years ago for a theater on ice competition. He had a serious injury (ankle fracture or something) but still skated it & did a great job & they got first place. If anyone has photographs you can post, it would be much appreciated. I sure wish I could go to see the show this weekend.

Kevin and Breann would make a great pair team!
I know both of them, and I know Breann would be willing, but as I recall Kevin was never gung ho on doing Pairs, but they would be great together, and both are about the same age.
Off the subject a little;) but, SKATING magazine could have done a fascinating article on skaters like Kevin and Breann, or even the ICE Theater of New York instead of those cream of wheat articles in the current ussue.

An article about how eligible skaters transition over into opportunities on ice in stage dance & theatre. Much better than another article about Shirley Temples skating in Hollywood.
