Well she is not competing this year at Nationals but last I heard, indicates that she would like to compete at Regionals and Sectionals next year to try to qualify for 2004 Nationals.

what happened to Naomi Nari nam? Is she hurt? Going to school? Is she still with John Nicks? How old is she anyway? thanks!

I watched my videotape of the 1999 nationals, and I just wanted to say I miss seeing this girl in competition so much. She had ENORMOUS potential -- even more than Sasha in my humble opinion. Everyone raves about Sasha's spins and extensions, but I think Naomi's were the best among the US ladies -- and still are, three years after that competition. It's so unfortunate she didn't have the jumps because this girl had all the makings of a world and/or Olympic champion. It's very disappointing to see such a promising skating career not reach its potential. I sincerely hope Naomi can make a comeback.

Yup, Naomi's been battling various injuries, mainly to her hip IIRC, since the 2000 nationals and hasn't competed in about two and a half years.

Going to school?

I believe she does attend a regular school now. She'd probably be a senior in high school, or maybe only a junior (summer birthdays are hard to say).

Is she still with John Nicks?

Last I heard, although she did spend the summer working with Carol Heiss Jenkins until she got injured again.

How old is she anyway?

She turned 17 in July.

realistically, what are her chances of making it to nationals after all of the hip injuries. I am really shocked she is still competing

Naomi is skating and training with John Nicks.

She is LOOKING GOOD!!!!

Some may have written her off, but she's going to surprise people in 2004! Mark my words!

Spider, that would be awesome! I really enjoyed her skating and I hope she does make it back.

I hope NNN WILL be back in 2004. She was such a joy to watch.

I hope that Naomi will be at least skating in some shows so that we can see her again!
