View Full Version : Question about Nebelhorn Trophy - and other competitions

Hi,

as I'm sometimes confused myself about that, I try to make a list (at the moment for me, perhaps some time online) of competitions - divided into:
- nationals
- internationals like Nepela...
- grand prix
- europeans / four continents, worlds, olympics

- pro-am
- pro

Juniors should be in a separate category. Now the problem: There were times I thought Nebelhorn Trophy was an international (see above). Now it seems to me there were only (?) junior competitors. Can someone tell me what's the right category for this competition?

Or does someone know a website where a (the more complete the better) such listing is already shown?

Nebelhorn Trophy is a senior international (along with Finlandia Trophy, Ondrej Nepela Memorial, Karl Schaefer Memorial/Vienna Cup, Golden Spin of Zagreb, etc.) What may be confusing you is that there are often skaters in these senior internationals that also compete in the ISU Junior Grand Prix series in the same season -- such as Italy's Carolina Kostner this fall when she won the JGP in France, Nebelhorn, Nepela and has qualified for the JGP Final in December.

Thanks, Sylvia -
good to know something for sure instead of guessing... :D

Of course if anybody knows some more to fit in the categories - would be fine...

Up to now I have:
Senior Internationals
- Campbell's Classics (the new invented one in Florida this fall)
- Finlandia Trophy
- Golden Spin
- Karl Schäfer Memorial
- Morzine competition (still existing?)
- Nebelhorn Trophy
- Neuchatel Trophy
- Ondrej Nepela Memorial
- Piruetten (??? don't know much about that)
- Richmond competitions (not possible anymore cause the rink is demolished)
- Silver Cup (always in Ankara?)
- Skate Israel (if I understood correctly this is NOT the Israeli national championship)
- a Tallinn competition I know almost nothing about
- Top Jump

Any comments? Thanks in advance for any contribution.

Yes, Skate Israel is a senior international, but it's been cancelled the past two years.

In case you haven't already checked the ISU event page for 2002-3:
