Anyone else hear him going on about them at the SA competition..

I mean, i've been enjoying this team for a while now... but they've definitely got a new fan in Dick Button!!

Now which L&A are we referring to? I'm being a bit silly, as I know it was the Canadian pairs team that was at Skate America, but if someone didn't know them and didn't know who was at SA, one could think he might have meant ice dance L&A from Russia.
Just a thought, that when we post with initial, it might help others figure out who we are talking about if we at least give the country they are representing or their entire last names.

til later,
Deb

First off hi everyone this is my very first post here and I'm not even sure if I'm doing this right so bear with me.

Anyway I have to agree with you about Dick. Listening to him today talking about L&A was hilarious. He was ranting and raving, like I couldn't believe. I like L&A too but he was just too funny. One thing about Dick he certainly says what he thinks good or bad.

One more time.... which L & A are you talking about? I'm guessing Langlois & Archetto...???

Deb Thanks DEB. I thought I was the only one confused. Sometimes those initials are a real @#$*! to try to retreive from my tired mind.

sorry folks...should have been more clear...

I was just watching it at the time, and Lobacheva & Averbuchk weren't even on my mind.

Langlois and Archetto...I loved them. Love their program, very magical skaters...posted elsewhere on costumes not being just right, but the choreography was so great for e lucevan le stelle, and especially after the last 3 throw...which is towards the end of the program, right where you want to really draw people in.

I've heard that aria sung live by Pavarotti at least 10 times, and maybe 1000 times on CD...Canada's L&A just got it, nailed it, and I just loved it!

T&M are more accomplished and in every detail...their LP is not as magical, even the music lost me for a time, but I enjoyed the magnificence, the almost-perfection of their skating.

Were Lobacheva and Averbuch in this competition?

Also, I think I heard Button say that he loves the opera, Tosca, but can't recall when or where.

Nope. Nor at Skate Canada.

But not everyone would know that off the top of their head while reading the message headings. For all some people know, Mr Button could have been talking about Lobacheva and Averbuhk during the broadcast. There are also some people who might not know who Dick is.

Personally I thought the L&A in the title meant Lobacheva and Averbuhk

LOLOL....I love Dick Button (always have)...I thought he was going to start blubbering at the end of their program. He very clearly loved their skate at SA. And rightly so, it was wonderful! It's too bad that she's suffering now from a reinjured ankle...it did affect their performance at Skate Canada. So let's hope it heals soon!

It was pretty funny, especially since Peggy was herself quite smitten with Pang and Tong. Another Sasha/Sarah rivalry between these two? :D
