Congrats to St. Louis. Am definitely looking forward to going to this event. Any idea when tickets go on sale? I want to be sure I can get a good seat! :)

The AP newswire story just popped into my in box, so it should be online soon. Here's the main info:

"The 2006 U.S. Figure Skating Championships will be held in St. Louis at the Savvis Center.

Nationals, which also serve as the Olympic trials, will run Jan. 7-15, 2006."

Aaron, as a former St. Louisan (hurray, St. Louis!) who still has some local skating connections, I'll keep you posted if I "hear" anything! ;)

Yes! Driving distance for me. I was hoping they'd select Cincinnati since I could drive back and forth from home every day, but St. Louis is still a great choice. Can't wait! Aaron, we'll have to get some front row seats... ;)

Driving distance for me too. I love it when these things are in the Midwest!

I'm pumped too!!!! I live in St. Louis County, so this is going to be the coolest!!!

I think the main reason St. Louis got it was that the other cities have already hosted before.

I just hope the non-skaters in St. Louis realize what this means for them. International as well as national attention on their city. As far as PR, this is bigger than when the Rams won the Super Bowl.
