Hi there,
Just wanted to let you all know that Skate Canada 2003 will be held in Mississauga, Ontario as per the Skate Canada website press release. I don't know which venue however it will be held in. It will probably be held @ The Hershey Centre just as it was in 2000. I don't know when the tickets will be released for sale, but I will definately be attending. Hopefully it will be announced soon.
Tickets will go on sale Nov. 9 at 10 a.m. and it is at the Hershey Centre.
I'd love to be there too - I wonder if you can still get good seats later on, or if it will sell out quickly.
I've never gone to SC - what has anyone else experienced?

The Hershey Centre is a great venue. I attended Skate Canada 2000 there and it was the first competition that I attended in a long time.
We bought our tickets in May 2000 last time, but we were stuck way up top. I will also be waiting for a little while to buy my tickets.
Not to worry though, I am pretty sure that you will find tickets later on.

KCS - if you want good seats, better get your seats on Nov 9th if possible or as soon thereafter as you can. As for Skate Canada, it is great. It is known to be a better event than Skate America. Usually has a good line-up, usually sold out and enthusiastic crowds, etc. With the exchange rate it is a great deal for Americans too. Canada is really a fun place to see skating.

If you go, don't plan on eating a meal there. I seem to recall from before that all they had was hotdogs and nachos. (I went expecting it to be more like the ACC -- probably unrealistic in my expectations!)
I also seem to recall it being quite chilly in the arena.

What happened with London? Is the arena not completed yet? I too loved the venue in 2000 but hated the food. My friend and I took our own food.
I think London is still on...but I think it was 2004, not 03...the arena was finished mid October...I remember the club telling us we would all have to volunteer....

I'm surprised that Mississauga is getting SC again so quickly. But I'm not complaining, I'll definitely be there!

Again??????
I'm never gonna be able to go if it keeps going to Ontario.
If London is getting it in 2004 then personally I don't think Ont should get it 2 years in a row.

I understand why you could think that it was unfair for it to be in Canada 2 years in a row. I think the only reason that it happens is because each section can put in it's own bid. Missisauge will be hosted by the Central Ontario section, while London willl be hosted by the Western Ontario section.

Has anyone heard anything about ticket prices yet?

Does anyone know if tickets will be sold at Ticketmaster outlets or only by phone or the internet?
Thanks Donnamarie.
I figured I'd have to get the tickets soon if I want to go - I have five days to think about it!
Tickets cost $192.50 for the four days. I know they're sold in person at the Hershey Centre and by phone or Internet from Ticketmaster, but I don't know if that includes in person at Ticketmaster outlets or not.

You can phone TicketMaster's to get tickets & get tickets in person
@ the Herrshey Center, also you can get tickets on line through TicketMaster's.
Hope this helps, I also was there in 2000, I
enjoyed every min. of it.

Just returned from the Ticketmaster outlet in Belleville. Apparently Ticketmastet will know by Friday if tickets will go on sale in their outlets or not.

i called the hershey centre and they said tickets would not be on sale at ticketmaster locations...
also there is a 12.50 charge for some special printing...

Special printing of what? is that $12.50 per package (which would take the all-event package up to $210)?
OK, now I know. The actual ticket price is $175 (as communicated to me by someone at Skate Canada via e-mail), and the the $12.50 is added to bring the package price up to $192.50. I don't know if the $12.50 is for "special printing" or if it's part of a venue fee that Hershey is charging (a venue fee is common at Toronto theatres).

Can anyone say what the date is of the Sk. Canada that's
being held @ the Hershey Center in 2003 please.
Thanks.

Just bought tickets - total of $414 for 2 tickets in section 11, row A. Is that near the K&C? I hate it that you never get to speak to a live person!

K&C is @ the other end of the rink, you are where they come out to skate. In 2000 that's what was happeneing then.
I also got my tickes for Sk. Canada 2003 &
I'm in Sec 16 Row C-5&6. I can't believe I got 3 rows from the ice.
I'm taking a friend with me, should be a great time.

Just ordered my tickets.
I'm in section 24, row D, seat 9.
Still need to find somewhere to stay since I don't want to drive 3 hours each way from where I live compared to Mississauga.
Might be looking for a roommate to share costs. If so, PM me please.
Christmas is coming early this year, again!
til later,
Deb

VGL -- LOL!!! I have the dubious distinction of being only two rows behind them....
Section 22, Row C, seats 101 to 104

I'm in row A also (almost centre ice) - but I'll be sure to run over and visit Adrian to brag that it'll take me less than an hour to get home (seeing as he drove back to New Jersey in less time than it took me to arrive in Toronto from Quebec City) 8O

You'll get to meet two friends from work though, and the daughter of one of them.
I'll do my best to warn them first. :^D

Just ordered my tickets today....section 20, row L 103&104. It's center ice, but 12 rows up...oh well, better than my Grand Prix Final event seats in Kitchener last year!

Ah!! I got 2 tickets sec. 16 row C. Not bad but
that's what I got so, have to be happy about it.
Can't wait till next year to be there & see the skaters
in person , then come home to see it on tv as,
I don't live too far from the Hershey Center.
Good luck to all the skaters & the fans too.
What a Blast it will be.

Got the tickets 3 days ago, and this is what I got;
Section 20 (right behind the judges)
Row P
Seats: 3-5 (got 3 tickets).
We definately have to arrange a get together closer towards the time.
