WOW congratulations to Goodwin/Obzansky! 2nd in this field is quite outstanding! I hope they can hang on to a top 3 spot here. Also congrats to S/J for leading after the SP. Those marks are pretty good. I hope Scott Smith can pull up some-- he's better than 9th in this field for sure. Ben Miller is one of the most consistent jumpers around, I think. The ladies competition should have some interesting results. I hope someone there will send reports.

Yes, 6th is a good spot for Mr. Young. Does he have a consistent 3axel? I'm wondering if he should have been considered for a GP event along with Andreev since Jayson Denommee is looking pretty weak, even though Jayson beat those guys soundly at Nationals, right? Anyway, Nick's presentation marks are among the highest in the entire event-- if he skated perfectly he probably would have been in the top 3 for sure.

Does anyone know why Putnam/Wirtz withdrew?

Great for Lukas Rakowski doing this great come back from really bad showing in Nepela Memorial. Hope somebody will finally learn him the 3 Axel. His short is really masterpiece. Watch out his step sequences.

Sweden rocks for the moment. Kristoffer BErndtsson in third place after the short program with marks over 5.0 in both marks!!! He must have landed his tripple axel. Maybe this will be the season for Sweden to shine. Kristoffer Berndtsson, Filip Stiller and Lina Johansson. Now only Åsa Persson has to come in good form to do a good showing at Europeans at home!!!
