Another article: (hope the link works)

Not surprising, you had to wonder what was going on by the fact that they were the only team not to tour this spring and the fact that the talk of their own tour seemed so unrealisitic. Hears hoping they can get it together and make some better decisions from now on....

Interesting... I think they made the right choice though.

Thanks for posting the links to these articles--they certainly explain a lot about the questions surrounding S&P's agent and proposed tour!

On one hand, I'm disappointed they weren't able to work out a deal to tour together with Elvis--I don't think there would have been enough room in the US for a tour headlining S&P (they probably would have had a lot of trouble attracting skaters who weren't already committed to SOI, COI or busy training for eligible competition), but I think there's definitely room for another major skating tour in Canada! Since COI never comes here, the only major shows we get are SOI and STN. A tour with Elvis and S&P as co-headliners would have probably done [b:9ac6631768]very[/b:9ac6631768] well up here and provided some healthy competition for SOI--hopefully Elvis will be able to accomplish the same thing on his own!

On the other hand, I'm thrilled to death that S&P are joining SOI and they've gotten rid of their former agent (who didn't seem to make very wise decisions on their behalf and wasn't exactly portraying them in a very positive light following the Olympics.) Not to mention I hope this will end any professional relationship might have had with Mike Burg (who doesn't exactly have the greatest track record in dealing with skaters, either!)

Does anyone have an further information about Bob Steadward? Does he have a close relationship with IMG (which could explain how S&P were able to join SOI so quickly!)

BTW, the Saskatoon show mentioned in the Edmonton Journal article is with STN, not SOI...I wonder if S&P are doing any other STN shows in Western Canada this spring?
