WJLA viewers--call and complain....

Any DC/VA/MD viewers out there outraged over WJLA's decision to yank the Skate America telecast Sunday in favor of their showing "A Bug's Life" (moved up from a night broadcast to allow them to show the Redskins game in this area, a game that was already being telecast anyway on ESPN), PLEASE call and complain to their programming department.

I called a few times Sunday to complain, and the news woman said many people had called, and that the best thing to do was to call programming and let them know we were discouraged by their decision.

The name I got to speak with in programming was Howard Zeiden, who apparently won't be in the office until Thursday (10/31). The main number is 703-236-9552. The woman I spoke to said she didn't think they would be showing it at all.

Let's let them know how ridiculous this is! Remember, WJLA execs were the geniuses who yanked live primetime coverage of the ladies final at the 2001 Worlds in favor of an Oscar special. They did air the event at 2 a.m. that morning. You would have thought they learned their lesson.

Any word on ESPN or ABC Family "re-broacasting" the ladies final from Skate America?

Remember folks if you do call be polite and reasonable, no matter how mad you are! :P Even if they don't rebroadcast this one, we want to make sure they know they've got lots of skating fans in their audience so they don't do this again.
