I had posted this question at FSWorld, but when I went in to see the responses today I learned that I can no longer get in there! 8O Arggghhh!! :x DON'T get me started on Paul Martini and his "all-mighty-buck" mentality!
ANYWAY, sorry to vent there. I really am curious if F-P&M have announced their decision yet. :?: Thanks

Actually - I'm not sure if Paul Martini is actually in charge of Iskater or just lending a name and doing commentary for $$$. He might not totally be at fault here.

F-P&M have announced that they will not compete next season as well as their retirement as far as I'm aware of. But I'm not sure if they are going "pro" or not. There doesn't seem to be very many professional competitions in Europe and those in the U.S. are mostly based on invite only *American Open excluded*.

Paul is the president of iskater.com. As far as I know, he is aware of the changes that have been made.

There is the German SOI. Aren't there some others too?

They have not retired from skating completely, they are planning to skate as pros.
There are some opportunities in Europe, like shows and small tours, just no big tours like COI or SOI.
I think they'll also do some shows on COI in June/July.[/b]

Why couldn't FP&M skate in North American tours ? I mean, obviously there is nothing wrong with the European tours but why assume that the NA tours are out of the question ? And why wouldn't they be invited to any of the pro comps over here, assuming that an ice dance event is included (which admittedly, has become a rarity) ? I think they have a pretty healthy American following and they could come with some really great pro numbers.
Have A&P split completely or do they have any intention of skating as pros ? I've heard rumours that they don't like each other all that much....

Strange about A/P - they seem to have dropped of the planet :?
I will admit that the one time I saw them live they were a disappointment to me, but that could (I guess) just have been an off night or something - I certainly would think they would be a draw for audiences...g

I'll miss A/P and D/V. So here's my predictions so far:
Gold: L/A
Silver: C/S
Bronze: B/K

lrng to skate,
A/P have not disappeared, they're touring with COI. They were excellent in Greensboro last afternoon.
