Good for Amber.

Fantastic!!!! This is a great oppurtunity for her to finally be back on the GP. I thought it was probably coming down between Andrea G. and Corwin, but since Corwin finish 4th at Nehlborn and Andrea finish a dissapointing 8th, there was no contest.

Yes, this is good news. For me, Amber falls into that unfortunate category of severely underappreciated skaters. She's such a beauty on the ice, even moreso in person (front row seats in LA taught me that ;)). Long lines, elegant extension....she's got 'em!

Go get 'em Amber! :D

I totally agree Spinner! She is deffinately better than her results show. Her result in LA was unfortunate, I was hoping she would place better. Hopefully she will be able to perform well in Germany.

Good for Amber. Nice to see her getting another chance.

Will the ladies spot at Skate Canada be filled?

This is a nice opportunity for Amber and she was definitely one of the more deserving possibilities, BUT I've really got to feel for Andrea Gardiner. Granted, she didn't do as well at her fall international (not that Amber did all that well either), but she did beat Amber at nationals--this is now the third time she's missed out on a major competitive opportunity in an "iffy" decision. She's not my favorite skater or anything, but I'd imagine she must be disappointed.

Just checked the ISU page. Found out Angela withdrew and that's why Amber got invited.

I hope Angela's injury is not serious.

If you look at GP France, there is no US lady invited (except Cohen who is seeded). I thougt each host country has at least 1 invitation to each discipline at every GP (seeded skaters excluded). So, does it mean USFSA does not want to send anyone to France? Or is it to be determined?

Spinner, I completely agree with your description of Amber. I had the opportunity to skate at the same rink as her for this past year, and her skating was just beautiful. She also was so nice. It's too bad that Angela had to withdraw, but I am glad Amber gets her spot.

What happened to Angela? There goes the GPF, unless she can get another event, which doesn't seem likely. :(

Gosh, I really enjoy Andrea Gardiner's skating. What more does she have to do to get an assignment over Amber? I like Amber's skating, but I don't really understand the decision.

Why hasn't Hughes' spot at Skate Canada been filled? And Goebel's too, for that matter.

The organization holding the competition can decide whether or not they want to allow substitute skaters after the Sept. 20th deadline. Maybe SC didn't accept any replacement skaters?
