Oct. 23, 2002. 01:30 PM
OTTAWA (CP) — Ice dance stars Shae-Lynn Bourne and Victor Kraatz withdrew from next week's 2002 MasterCard Skate Canada International on Wednesday citing Bourne's nagging Achilles injury.
Bourne is receiving physiotherapy twice a day for Achilles tendinitis, the same injury that knocked the two out of this week's Skate America in Spokane, Wash.
Bourne, 26, from Chatham, Ont., and Kraatz, 31, from Vancouver are the reigning world silver medallists. They hope to be ready to skate at the Lalique Trophy in Paris, Nov. 14-17.
Skate Canada runs from Oct. 31 to Nov. 3.
