Say everyone, I have a question? If you know, and are aquaintnce friends with a former skater, and if the former skater has said you can use them in your book, but you don't know anything about their competitive record, is it right to assume they won't mind it, and if they might, how should you word it in your book so you can accully tell about them without getting in trouble with them and still have pubishers count it? Thanks.

Dana dear....think about this. If Susie Skater has said that you can mention her in your book, then you can. Why would there be a problem with mentioning her competitive record? It's a part of what she's done, and if it's relevant to how you're mentioning her in your book, then it also belongs there. Besides, that kind of information is not private, it's public--anyone can look it up in any number of places. No one would be upset with you for putting it in your book---as long as you get it right! :)
