Doesn't it just drive you crazy when there are results awaiting you but you want to watch unspoiled? Sometimes I have no willpower. But with this new skating season comes my resolution.
I will not peek, I will not peek!
:)
What about the rest of you?

i'm too weak minded. If I can spoil myself, I will definately.
spoiled. I think the only competitions I am unspoiled for are US Nationals, Worlds, and the Olympics. :)

Spoiled. I've tried to do the no spoilers thing before, and it's just too awful. I have no willpower whatsoever and I stopped pretending that I do. ;)

I only remain unspoiled for nationals, worlds and Olypmics. For the rest of the comps I'll peek. ;)

I find skating too stressful as it is. I don't like the feeling. SPOILED.
The only time I don't peek is when I'm watching the competition live, in person at the arena. Even then I keep thinking I should be able to get the results somewhere. In 1992, I called France to find out what time Paul Wylie was skating. I tried to not know, but it was just too necessary.

I peek whenever possible LOL. It is absolutely too stressful for me otherwise.

TOTALLY spoiled..
I hate the fact that we have to wait to see them and to top it off.. no Shorts!! This is normal for SA which frustrating to no end.. but for the ENTIRE season.. if I can be spoiled by the Internet.. I'm totally going for it

The only time that I can avoid reading about the results is if the televised event will follow shortly after the event. I don't think that I could wait to watch for the results of Skate America when some of the televised events will be a week later. I couldn't stand being in the dark, plus I would have to aviod the Boards! No way.

Spoiled. I have no willpower when it comes to skating events (chocolate yes, skating no :) ). I think I may actually fork over money to i$kater to see the play-by-play. Hey, it's only $9 - I guess a small price to pay to satisfy my weakness - lol!
The one time in the Internet era that I tried to remain unspoiled was for the ladies final at 2000 Worlds. I knew what time in France it was happening and that it would be over by around noon Eastern time. At the time, I figured that either Irina or Maria would win (since the SP standings made it impossible for MK to "control her own destiny") and I figured I would just wait to watch on TV that night. I lasted until 4:30 in the afternoon, when I finally had to peek. Of course, I was both shocked and thrilled that MK had won, but as I watched the comp that night, given the dramatic way it unfolded (with MK skating first in the final group), I almost wished I had waited. Of course, I have never tried to be unspoiled since.

I've been "spoiled" my entire life why change now? ;)

I try not to know the results, but it's hard, especially when they aren't going to show the short programs. I'll have to go online to find out the results of the shorts, and I usually get hooked and want to know more...and spoil myself. I prefer to watch the events unspoiled, but I just can't resist!

Even assuming that my heart could possibly stand the stress of watching the competition without knowing the results. I already need a valium IV just to watch when I know what is going to happen!! Who in the world could wait an entire week without finding out.....even by accident. That is too crazy. Avoid chocolate, sure. Avoid skating results - no way

I find it sad that this sport has to be pre-packaged and shown on various cable channels over more than a week's time in order for us to view the results in the first place. What other major sport has to be watched this way anyway? "Hey Sam, are you gonna find out who won that Packers-Bears game or just wait until they show it next week on Lifetime?" Oh well, at least most of the GP is actually being televised at all I guess.

SPOILED!
The first thing I'll do when I get home Friday night is check to see where Emanuel is after the SP. It's hard enough to do that, let alone actually watching it live!
If he skates his best, he should come in (easily) right after Yags (who, of course is superhuman).

And, can you imagine them showing the defensive plays one night on ESPN, the Special Teams on Lifetime, and the Offense on ABC? Or, of course, they could show the Third Quarter on Friday, The The good plays of the first half on Sunday Afternoon, and the Fourth Quarter Saturday night.

spoiled.
i only stay unspoiled for live events or events i actually attend :D (sometimes if the event is on the next day and none of my favorites are skating, i'll try and remained unspoiled, but that's a rare occurance as i have a lot of favorites!)

I love to watch the GP unspoiled. It frustrates me to watch an up and coming skater or couple do really well and already know that they don't place well. You know what I mean?
I got so excited for Johnny Weir at Trophee Lalique but already knew that he would finish 4th.
Although, the live Nats and Worlds have made me crazy. But I guess that's a good crazy. 8)

I usually can hardly stand to watch if I don't know the results in advance, lol, so I definitely WILL be spoiled if at all possible! :D

This is the first skating season that I have internet access at home, and I definitely think that I will use it to find out the results of Skate America and other competitions as soon as possible. I would actually prefer to watch an event live on TV without knowing the results, but I just don't have the patience to wait for the television coverage. I'll even be getting the newspapers to look for skating articles. In the past, for Skate Canada, Worlds, Olympics, Canadians, I have even listened to radio sports broadcasts in the hopes of getting results, which I will still do this year for those events.

remain unspoiled??? It's possible???
I'm with you, Jim D! ;)
I hate being spoiled. I had 1999 and 2000 Worlds spoiled by a friends friend and USA Today, respectively. I was so upset that I nearly cry.
Watching skating knowing what is going to happen is like reading the last few pages of a 200-page novel first.

Spoiled. I find it more relaxing knowing the results before watching the competition on TV.

Definately spoiled! I like to know all of the details right when they're happening. It would be impossible for me to stand not knowing the results for days or even weeks until the event aired on T.V.

Don't feel bad. Every time Emanuel steps onto the ice, I jide in the bathroom (and even turn the fan on so I can't hear)!
Of course my VCR is on just in case I step into the living room and he's smiling.
