Good for her. Glad she's back on the ice and healthy.
Given her hip problems, she and Rudi Galindo (hip replacement) should get together on some sort of public awareness campaign for overuse injuries.

That was it? I've already read the "article" that was linked, which was rather fluffy to begin with - I'm not getting any vibes that this woman will be skating professionally ever again, maybe coaching a bit on the side, but she's been out of practice for 8 years. What does everyone expect her to be able to do out on the ice - a few doubles, and some butt-wiggle? (ala Genie in a Bottle program, ack!) I hope she doesn't try a 'comeback'. Her few years on SOI tour were bad enough.

Her genie in a bottle program had 3 triples in it (including a Lutz), so I dunno how you missed all that but caught the butt wiggles. Oksana Baiul does quite well falling on 80% of her triples and doing a bunch of doubles, so I don't think Tara would do half bad if she was to come back.

When I saw her skate that program live, she only managed doubles, barely landed. She was in a lot of pain, had bad technique, and she really spent most of the time 'dancing'.
You're definition of 'doing quite well' is much different from mine, btw. falling on triples, and skating from the waist up is not my definition of doing well.

Tara competed quite consistently as a professional with her jumps, and generally did more difficult jumps than most other professionals (she had all her jumps until her hip made it to where she couldn't do some due to surgery, etc.). Certainly more consistent than, say, Sasha Cohen in exhibitions.

Triple Toe, Triple Lutz, Triple Loop
The technique on the Toe and Loop was fine. The Lutz actually left off of an outside edge (better version on TaraLipinski.com, so you can see it there) although I still disapprove of the high kick she always did in it.
I don't think Tara needs a lesson on doing well, and I sure don't want any sermons. I don't care how you define anything :P
Thread is not to badmouth her. It's only to pass on information to those who choose not to/don't want to follow her on Facebook (or don't have a FB Profile).
You're welcome.
