Not sure but I have seen what is commonly referred to as a "shoot the duck" position also referred to as a "teapot," so maybe this is actually another name for a sit spin.

If so, strong hams and quads/glutes help. I recommend squats, or if you have a bad back, hamstrings curls and quad extentions at the gym. :D

That's a sit spin. The ISU's COP, USFSA's IJS and my Skate Canada's CPC codes the sit spin as SSp plus whatever level the spin is...; ei SSp1, SSp2, SSp3 or SSp4. The spin you saw in the video is not quite low enough to be called as a SSp1 as of this year because they've just changed their expectations of the sit spin; you now have for have the top of leg (quad muscle) level with the ice or lower to be called a sit for at least 3 revolutions or more. I have no idea if the judges will be marking that way for recreational, in Canada Preliminary StarSkate and lower, ISI, in the USFSA Adult Silver and lower and USFSA test. And I especially have no idea how other countries other than Canada or US mark their non-competitive skaters.
