I already posted a link to this under the "Jamie and David" topic, but in case you missed it there, here's a recent USA Today article featuring both Olympic pairs champions:

Thanks very much for the article. However, I can't help noticing that the writer didn't care to cheak the facts. The writers mentioned that B&S had never skated in the US soil after Salt Lake. It is not true because they skated in Sun Valley in July. They also skated in the United Way show, "Yagudin and Friends" just last month. My friend actually attended the Yagudin show and saw them.

Well good for them!
I really enjoyed that article...I mean, I've often wondered, just HOW many millions does one need to be happy? I'm pretty sure I'd be awfully happy with just , even, er ah ONE million? (I know, its different if you have a company and all those employees and customers depend on you).
That said, I'm looking forward to seeing them skate...really do hope they keep skating, you know, so we can see them.

They also skated in Jamie & David's Homecoming show in Edmonton (and they were fabulous!!!)

Uh Oh - my mistake. I guess I should know that Edmonton isn't in the US. Sorry guys. Everytime I see US, I automatically see "north america".

Why am I not suprised that when it comes to the Russians USA today couldn't get it right? They are mostly referred to as the Russians instead of their names as if they were pure evil.
I saw them in Marlboro and they were spot on. Elena look so happy and relaxed.
The US is a seperate country from Canada. I never refer to myself as a North American and I don't know of anyone who does. I am an American and a US citizen.

I think B&S are often referred to as "the Russians" not as a put-down, but because their names are harder for American journalists to spell (much less pronounce). Just a guess. (Granted, journalists should be able to get the names right, but I don't think it's an anti-Russian thing.) Myself I say B&S or Elena & Anton ... does anyone remember that show a few years ago when everyone was trying to say Anton's last name? Cute :D

Uhm, why so upset? The story referred to S&P as "The Canadians" throughout that article too.
