Well, can't say I wasn't expecting it. Apparently he has an engagement with Plushenko's "Kings on Ice" tour in Russia but I only heard that on FSUniverse.

WOW! I wasn't expecting that at all. He's been doing interviews here, there and everywhere.

He says he's taking a break, not that he's skating in a tour. He's usually pretty honest, but who knows?

Lysacek's dropping out gave Ryan Bradley his shot.
Weir's withdrawal gives Adam Rippon a chance.

One more withdrawal and we send our final alternate - Brandon Mroz.

I guess Plushenko's not competing, either?

Thanks for posting this.

The fact that he was doing so many interviews and appearing on so many TV shows meant he was not practicing.

Plushenko is still listed on the ISU website as an entry for the Worlds so I guess we will see in the coming days if he will still compete.

The whole 'Kings on Ice' thing was off FSUniverse, so take it with a grain of salt.

I can't say I'm surprised either. Johnny seems to be keeping himself quite busy these days. I'm seeing him everywhere!

Well, this has made this yer's World Championships a LOT less interesting...

On the other hand, I'm hoping Takahashi totally takes it (if he is there of course...)

But will we (USA) be able to secure 3 places for men at next year's Worlds with the replacements? If Abbott can't do better than #9 (Olympics) that means Bradley or Rippon have to place 1,2,3 or 4.

Surely with half the people above him not going to World's Abbot will be able to place higher than 9th.

He's so hot/cold though- you just never know which Jeremy is going to a competition

Rippon accepted with dignity, says he's been training all along, just in case.

following Abbott on facebook, he's po'ed at himself, and ready to redeem himself at Worlds. If he skates like Nationals, he's on the podium.

I'm rooting for DiceK too - I think he rocks.
