SOOOOO proud of my little bug!

She was supposed to test last evening, then after waiting and waiting, we found out that 3rd necessary judge was delayed at the airport. Test was not going to happen. Then, call back from test chair...judge was on plane could be there in 45 min. GREAT...I had my jammies on, dd was out of test mode, NOT ready for this now. THEN we find out that flight was canceled...Dds dance coach/partner had driven 3 hours to partner with her (among others) and was supposed to get back home after her tests. He talked w/ judges, and they all agreed to do it in the morning, 15 min before a competition was supposed to start at host club. Awesome coach/partner decides to stay overnight just so she can get these 2 dances over with. So after some back and forth, which left us all testy, we agreed that this was best. One fitfull nights sleep later, we are back at rink at 7:15am to take the test. Everyone shows up, and 15 minutes later, dd has passed both Foxtrot and European Waltz!

WHEW!!

After all that had happened, I didn't know how she would do, with the added stress and pressure, knowing that everyone was doing this JUST for her 2 tests, there were no others, she really wanted to do a great job to make it all worthwhile...and she did well enough for bonus points!

YAY!!! Now on to SILVER!!!

Wahoot! Congrats to your DD! Isn't crazy all the hoops you have to jump through to take dance tests sometimes?!?!?!? My DD is taking her Foxtrot on March 17th.

Congrats! Maybe your DD simply does best under pressure - a very useful life skill in many parts of reality!

European is not an easy dance, to do it well is difficult; if she mastered it, she's well set up for the rest of the waltzes. Not sure which Foxtrot - Keats? - I don't know the US dance groupings, just the Canadian. Regardless, not an easy pair to pass together, very different in terms of presentation and style. Good for her!

Congratulations! What an ordeal to go through. Sounds as though she held up great under the pressure. My DD just passed those two as well (even though I'm still not sure she should have - NOT the best dancing she has done...) and I am so glad she has stuck with dance. It has made such a difference to her all around skating in terms of power, use of her knees, and posture. I know I have said this before, but I really believe you can tell which skaters take dance lessons and which ones don't!

Well done! She must be so incredibly tough to get through that under those circumstances.

Its the most incredible story about a test session I've ever heard. It reminds me of the nightmares I used to have when I was about to sit my final university exams.

Is it the bronze foxtrot? My daughter is just starting to learn that and says its very difficult!

Well done her! I'm so glad she was able to skate to standard after all that - she's obviously more than got what it takes!
