Can't wait for tonight's opening ceremonies. Supposedly, NBColympics.com is streaming them live, but their site doesn't say that anywhere. It's on NBC starting at 7:30pm (ET).

Oh, what a tragedy: a luge athlete from Georgia lost control of his sled and crashed on a training run. He died at the hospital. What a shame.

There are calls to shut down the track because it's too fast for the sledders' safety.

Okay, I agree it's WEIRd. Lysacek used to date Belbin, and now she's rooming with Johnny Wier who's probably cuter than she is. I mean can I not say, this would make a great movie. Complete with rink side cat fight and JW helping TB out with her costume. Plushy would have to be the bad guy complete with evil looks and other nefariousness.

No I'm not being catty...it's just one of those amusing things that a screenwriter could make into a screamingly hysterical movie: "Rink Wars"--Cold as Ice, Hot as a Volcano. ("Absurd premise" NY Times. "Too unreal to be believed." -Rotten Tomatoes , "10*" IMDB).

I disagree with Johnny. No one should use pink in a bathroom. The colors should be soothing shades of blue to pale blue-gray. (And yes I am a Weir fan)

Seems odd for Tanith and Johnny to be in the same room.. I mean she should be with Meryl or Emily or Amanda or Caydee Mirai or Rachel!!

It's actually a suite.

Excuse me suite/room same thing, obviously its a good quality place for the athletes to stay..

The term may be an Americanism: Down here in Southern North America, a suite is usually separate bedrooms with their own baths, but they share a small living area. Leastways, that's always what I get in hotels when I order a suite.

I just found this on YouTube - I love David Letterman; wish his mom had been up to doing another set of live Olympics reports.

Evan Lysacek was a good sport to do the "Top Ten Things Going Through Evan Lysacek's Mind During His Gold-Medal Ice Skating Routine."

ITA - I love suite hotels, especially with the kids along.

That's how both Weir and Belbin described it as well. It has a shared sitting area with two separate bedrooms and bathrooms. They're not sharing the same bedroom, lol.
