Compulsory Dance (Golden Waltz) is live on icenetwork.com right now.

Tanith & Ben !!! He looks like a kid without the facial hair. Very nice performance.

Wow - huge scores compared to the first two teams.

Belbin & Agosto open up a big lead as of this point, but it's still early.

I would really love to see a shot of the ice from above - the pattern must be cool to look at.

I had waltz music running through my head the whole night.

I love waltzes, lol. Strange earbug to have though.

Just looked at the compulsories on icenetwork. I thought Tanith and Ben looked sluggish (for them) - not my favorite at all - Meryl and Charlie - OMG so smooth and tight footwork. Very nice. Haven't seen Brent and Kim's yet.

Did anyone have time to watch Emily and Evans original dance?? Would Evan's cowboy hat be considered a prop and therefore not allowed? I thought you were not allowed props in ice dance. Like I know that you can use one as long as it does not come off of your costume.. Can someone clarify please?

Hats are allowed, as long as they don't fall off. If it touches the ice there would be a deduction. IIRC, Ben wore one 2 years ago when B/A did their country folk OD too.

I SO wanted Kim & Brent to get that last spot!! They made me cry with that FD.

Anyone have a clue why Merle and Charlie got a 1.0 deduction on their FD? It must have been minor like a lift being too long or one of those jumps being illegal because there GOEs were all positive.

So happy they won - too bad for Kim and Brent. I would have preferred them to go to the Olympics...

Protocol says the deduction was for an extended lift. I assume it was the first lift.

Thanks. I figured it was something totally technical like that.

was watching with a bunch of dance judges inbetween my skating events, and she kept pleading with the TV to 'get up, get up' as she thought they were laying on the ice too long.

I'm sitting here watching the exhibition skate as I'm sure all of you are doing as well, and Charlie White is wearing blue jeans! I find this hugely amusing because the rules for the freeskate sessions at the local rink say something like "absolutely no blue jeans. Look like a skater in training, not a public skater". Will they be forced to re-think their stodgy rules? :D
