The Cineplex chain in Canada will be broadcasting various events in HD at selected theatres across the country. A $39 "passport" gets you unlimited in-out access for the entire Games; single day tickets on sale later this month. I'm still entering contests like mad to try to win some tickets ... but if that doesn't happen, this will be a good back-up plan. Not as good as live of course, but it is still a "crowd experience," plus comfy seats, great view, and free parking.

Are any of the US movie theatre chains are doing something similar?

Canadians are so clever!

I hadn't heard anything, but I'll check out a few chains. That would be cool to watch skating on the big screen. Of course, it would be even better if I could tune out the announcers and just watch with the program music and the crowd noise...

Are there contests for trips to the Olympics? I love contests!

Are you just figuring that out now? ;)

Well, all the ones I've been entering have been for Canadians only, and because the Games are here there are a lot of them. But I'm sure there are some on your side of the border too. Good luck!
