I have two skaters interested in doing a couples spotlight. One is at the Delta level, the other is in FS1. Are they able to skate together in competition, and if so, in what level would they compete? I'm mainly curious because I am trying to cut music and there appears to be a 0:30 leeway between two levels.

I just looked on the ISI website and basically it looks like skaters in Pre-Alpha-Delta go together and skaters in FS1-3. My ISI rulebook is somewhat outdated (and I'm waiting on my 2010 version to arrive), and I can't seem to find an answer.

I am pretty sure that they can compete together, but the delta skater will have to skate-up to the freestyle 1-3 level (I think it is medium). Does the competition packet list any specific information?

Thanks, that's what I thought, which won't be a problem. I just wanted some verification on this. I'll definitely check my rulebook once my newer version arrives.

Unfortunately, the packet isn't out yet to check that (the competition is in March). We're just trying to get everything together now.

Hi CoachPA

Good luck with that. Yes, the two can compete together as long as the Delta level skater can skate up to Freestyle level 1.
