Vanoc unveiled (http://www.vancouversun.com/entertainment/2010+Vancouver+Olympic+Winter+Games+medals+unveile d/2106246/story.html) the medals for the 2010 Games today. I think they look really cool. Neat that they're so heavy too -- you'll really feel it when you have one hung around your neck.

They remind me of ski slopes. That's appropriate.
Or those delicious little waffle baskets that pastry chefs cover with chocolate and use as edible Chocolate Mousse dishes.

IIRC, the Italian Olympics had medals that looked like Compact Disks.

So long as it isn't the ice surface at the skating rink! Mind you, they've got a new snowboard "moto"cross event at these Games ... maybe there'll be a surprise event for skating in a similar vein!

Actually, the last time I was at the Pacific Coliseum (the skating venue), the pavement outside was kinda wavy like that. And not in a good way. I'm sure they'll fix it before Games time tho.

Yeah, but the chocolate-covered baskets are yummier!

Laughing about the pavement - I'm sure they'll fix it in time.

DH and I had planned to attend these Games, but with the economy situation, we decided that it would be extravagant.
Definitely planning on doing US Nationals in 2011 (Greensboro, NC!)
If Munich, Germany gets the 2018 Olympics, we are going!

They look like melted dove chocolate wrapped pieces. I like the backs better than the fronts.
