The first bit is old news I guess, but since I don't follow the show I only found out about when I read it in the Georgia Strait: after failing to make the cut last year, Eman made the top 20 in So You Think You Can Dance (Canada) this year. And apparently is still in the contest after the first couple of weeks.

The most interesting thing about this, IMO, is that he was able to absorb the criticism he received from the judges last year and actually improve. Too bad he wasn't ever able to do that in the skating world!

But the other interesting thing I spotted in the article was that he's not discounting the possibility of returning to skating for the 2010 games. I don't know if it's even technically possible at this stage (re: qualifications etc.), never mind whether or not he can still do the jumps ... but that would certainly make things interesting!

Very interested...

I think he has an exuberant nature, and, perhaps, this is linked to judge's "hostility"...
Once I met him (during last Olympic Games), and I find him very gentle and friendly like, of course, Canadian people! ;););)

Just spotted this other bit of news in the paper today: he's going to performing in something called "Ice Age 2010" as part of the Cultural Olympiad. Info here: http://www.vancouver2010.com/en/culture-and-education/cultural-festival-and-events/event-listings/-/70556/34048/1yi72j3/hard-rubber-orchestra-presents.html

Hmm. The event is post-Olympics, but still, it seems less and less likely that he'll be devoting the time required to get in competition shape.
