Grand Prix Teams Challenge

Your challenge: to select the strongest team to compete in the Grand Prix events. Contest deadline: October 23, 2002.

Each team will consist of 16 skaters/teams plus alternates.

The objective is to get the lowest score.

Your score will be the sum of the placements of each member of the team. (Only the 2 best placements will
count for skaters/teams who participate in 3 events.) Placements in the Grand Prix Final will not count towards the score. Only skaters/teams who are assigned 2 or more events will appear on the entry form. Alternates will be used when a skater/team is unable to compete in 2 events.

On the entry form skaters/teams are grouped into 3 categories: top 3, places 4-10 and places 11+. This is based on the results of last years Grand Prix circuit.

For anyone who remembers this contest from last year, I fixed the problem with the entry form. It should now work for everyone. If you provide your e-mail address (optional), you will receive a message confirming receipt of your entry.

Standings will be updated and posted following each event.

Rules:

There are NO prizes.
Fill in all the fields on the form (e-mail optional).
No late entries will be accepted.
Please try to choose a unique name so that I don't receive more than one entry with the same name.

Good luck!

Jennifer, not all the skaterswho are appearing in the grand prox eventsare listed. How come? Is it possible to add names? I think that all should be listed as some who have only been assigned one spot may in fact be assigned to a second at a last minute or as a replacement.

Scott,

I purposely left out skaters who were only assigned one event. The problem for me, with allowing for last minute assignments, is it requires me to check each and every entry to see if all team members competed in two events and if not, to use alternates instead. In short, it is a lot more work for me.

Just sent in my entry. Just wondering, why are Lobacheva & Averbukh in the 11+ category?

Thanks for running this again this year. Here's hoping to improve on 6th place!

bk_skates,

Lobacheva and Averbukh are in the 11+ category because they were unable to compete in last years Grand Prix circuit, due to injury.

Wow, alternates! That really helps the situation since so many skaters are too injured *cough* *cough* to compete, though plenty healthy to do shows :-b

Thanks for doing this Jennifer :)

I think you should have had more sunstitutes for Alternates. There are so many changes coming on because of the recent rash of withdrawals that the list to choose from is dated.
