Hello, everyone! I am from a region where ice skating rinks are nonexistent due to the climate. We are contemplating erecting an indoor recreational rink using Super-Glide Synthethic Ice. The videos we've viewed and articles we've read make it appear too good to be true, I am hoping a few of you can give me your opinions and weigh in on the pros and cons based on your experiences with Super-Glide synthetic ice.
Also, I am aware that other types of synthetic ice are known for destroying blades and requiring frequent sharpenings. Do the blades used on Easy-Glide ice wear as frequently? How often do they need to be sharpened? The sales woman I spoke to from one of the retailers told me they wear the same as on real ice. Is that true? I am aware that other forms of synthetic ice dull blades very prematurely. Is this type of "ice" really that different from the others?
