Who did you think should win?

I personally felt that Mike was robbed, and would have had the Mens:

Mike
Yags
Plushenko
Honda
Goebel

I also thought that Michelle was a little uninspired, and would have given the win to AP:

AP
Michelle
Sarah
Sasha
Viktoria

What did others think?

It seems like MW was robbed but if you really really look at that program and compare it to the other two Russian guys, it is not as strong. Remember, AY and EP programs are not new programs.

I think the viewers were robbed - I would have liked to have seen Matt Savoie and Jen Robinson. Especially since ABC showed Tim, who finished last, and chacked Matt. Oh well.

I missed Tim's performance. What happened for him to finish last?

I thought Michelle looked great. She looked like she was under no pressure, especially in the kiss/cry where she was talking to her coach, and I thought the jumps she did were gorgeous. Even on the triple flip I thought she had a lot more height than last year. McDonough looked awesome, and I was glad she got 2nd, she deserved at least that. What a gorgeous dress...hers always seem to have so many stones. I didn't like Sarah's program all that much, but then again I think she said she got it within the week. Did I hear that interview right? Sure was pretty polished for so early. Sasha's layback was awesome, but that footwork was a little too much like the top mens'. I'm not sure if she'll be able to quite pull it off. Her jump sequence was nice. Viktoria looked a lot more elegant this year. I tried to watch the mens but it was much too painful. The ladies look great this year!! I'm really excited.

Oh, definately M/Weiss was robbed! I could tell he had a different approach right away then last season when he was skating. It was obvious that he was better at this compeition then serveral others. I do not say this lightly either because one of those several are/is my fav. in the guys but fair is fair! Weiss was not rewarded for his work. He did a very good job and what did he get? 3RD:roll: How can the judges do this?

IMO Weiss wasn't robbed. He didn't land two triple axels. Both Yags & Plush landed two each. A two-footed quad doesn't equal two triple axels and the stuff Weiss does on his new blades is merely a silly circus trick.

well, weiss didnt fall on his behind either, and yagudin's fall was a bad one. that should have reflected in his presentation marks, which it didnt. also, as many have stated, the same old routines are boring. even the audience remained somewhat quiet during yagudin's footwork sequence, which usually causes the skating fans to go crazy.

true, weiss's 4lutz was 2-footed, but that doesnt mean that he deserved no credit. i guess it's up to the judges as to how much credit a very difficult 2-footed jump deserves, but again, it was much more successful than the SPLATS of both yagudin and plushenko on the much easier quad jumps. and, neither yagudin nor plushenko's presentation is that much greater than michael's. weiss has always been inconsistent technically, but he really doesnt have any major flaws artistically. (duane is taking up for michael weiss?? amazing!)

Sorry Duane, but a two-footed quad jump that only had 3 1/2 revolutions (like Weiss's) don't get credit over a quad jump that was fully rotated, landed on ONE foot, and the skater falls.

Presentation wise Weiss is at a disadvantage because he dosesn't skate with the same speed that Yags & Plush do.

The trouble is that no one has been able to develop anything truly innovative with the Freedom blade yet. For now, I don't feel that Weiss getting on his heels occasionally during his routine adds anything to his overall artistic impression.

Somebody should donate a pair of Freedom blade to Gary Beacom and then pays him to put together a routine with those blades.

I like Michael Weiss a lot and was really happy to see him skate the way he did at Campbell's.

The blades on his skates though seemed to take away from it. Too gimicky and he doesn't need that. Save them for exhibition programs.

I think the placement in the Men's event was fair (maybe Yags was a little overmarked, but that's nothing new).

 Oh Yeah, but then again he didn't wipe the ice with his @$$ did he?

While Weiss didn't fall, he only landed 5 triples, compared to the 7 triples that Yags & Plush landed.

In the long program, you are given credit for the jumps you land on ONE foot.

Falls & two footed jumps don't get credit or deductions in the long program, unless you try to repeat a triple (without a combo).

I LIKE the use of the new blades. It's adds some new movement and I think anything new and fresh is great. There are very few moves outside the required ones that couldn't be called a "gimmick" I still like it.

That pretty much covers how I feel about the footwork too - Sasha's and Yags - it's enjoyable, I don't care if it could be harder or looks harder than it is; it adds excitement.

I think the women we saw placing behind Michelle wuzz robbed. I am so disappointed in her lately...g

I don't think anyone WUZ robbed

For the ladies, I think

Kwan, and AP tied, with slight advantage to Kwan
3. Sarah
4. VV much better jumps, and no mistakes
5. Sasha, 2 foot landing, weak combination spins, too much skating on 2 feet.
