Any idea where the results can be found? I've been hunting for 20 minutes, and getting a bit frustrated by IceNetwork, USFSA, and ISU, in no particular order... grrrr.....
Are people actually getting paid to maintain those websites? The layers of links, lack of info, and general uselessness of all 3 sites is driving me to drink (pink sangria martini sounds good right about now!)

Nevermind.... I knew as soon as I'd ask, I'd find it myself, LOL!

Anyone else felt Evan was a bit robbed? I dunno. I just don't see how Joubert could be in first in terms of his performance scores. IMO, if you just stand there waiting for your music during your straight line sequence, I would call a new choreographer (especially with the points system).

How does Tomas Verner get away with having vocals in his music?

Is it on TV now? (Or was it?) TV Guide listed it on Oxygen, but the Oxygen website had nothing, and we don't actually get Oxygen here, LOL!

I was more impressed with Evan's skate than I've ever been before. I'm not generally a fan, but I really liked this program and his execution of it. I do wish his costume had more to do with the music and less to do with his belief system. Re being robbed, well, I wasn't counting points or even revs, but I think Joubert probably got credit for a quad. It wasn't until after the combo that I realized the first jump was most likely a quad. I thought Joubert's program was great and well skated.

My hearing is slightly impaired at the moment, but I believe it was scat, which means there were no actual words, and that is allowed.

I don't get Oxygen either. I'm watching online at universalsports.com. The Pairs Freeskate is due on in about 10 more minutes.

IMO, if you just stand there waiting for your music during your straight line sequence, I would call a new choreographer (especially with the points system).I agree - while I thought Joubert's program was cute and fun, it just didn't seem as complicated as Evan's, nor as well-skated. I think Evan really gave it his all, whereas Joubert was less-polished. As the commentators noted, it seemed that the judges weren't using the second marks to reward performance as much. Too bad - that's what keeps people watching the sport.
How does Tomas Verner get away with having vocals in his music? :?:My kids said the same thing. Vocals are allowed as long as they don't contain words. His music was "scat," which is just sounds and made-up words. Very cool. Can't wait for someone to skate to the original Star Trek theme.

The last few groups made it onto Oxygen last night. I watched universal all day long, but our dinner timing caused me to miss Evan's performance. Fortunately, I do get Oxygen with my DirecTV package, so it had been automatically recorded and I was able to rewind and watch.
Now for my usual costuming critique: what's with all the competitors wearing gloves? It looks strange to me, especially the skater with the gold gloves. Distracting throughout his program - I kept looking to see if they were wristlets, lol.
I am totally loving Brandon Mroz and I hope he has a great freeskate. I enjoyed his performance very much.
I thought Patrick Chan wasn't as light on his feet as in past competitions. The commentators on Oxygen said that he's had inconsistent practices all week.
There's apparently some controversy between Joubert and Chan - something about sportsmanship. *shrugs* I guess since the press can't play Johnny against Evan, they had to pick new conflicts. Ridiculous.

I haven't seen the programs yet (CBC is showing them late night for some reason. oh well, at least we get them), but I've felt that Joubert has been over-marked in his performance scores for years.

I find it odd, it seems quite out of character for Patrick to say. Not that I disagree with what he said, it just seems unnecessary to say it.
BTW, if I were a superstitious person, I'd say that I don't want Patrick to win Worlds because of the Canadian-mens-champ-year-before-Olympics curse. But I'm not superstitious. Nope, not me. Going outside now to turn around three times and spit.

Thanks for the link - I only got the gist of it from the announcer's discussions on NBC/Oxygen. That does seem out of character for Chan.
He is young. Maybe he spoke too fast before he thought it out? ;)
What's done is done, but I guess we'll be hearing about this rivalry for a while yet. Too bad, it's such a waste of time.
Or we could blame it on his training in Florida. Those evil displaced NY'ers talking trash have sullied the young man, lol. (Spoken as an evil displaced NY'er myself...)
We were discussing the World's coverage this morning at the rink and one of the ladies said that she really would prefer the old-school, scripted profiles on the skaters that were positive to the "Truth Booth" and apres-skate interviews that are obviously uncomfortable. I said that it's not fair that the skaters have to immediately go from the kiss-and-cry right to the "sweat-and-sniff" interview without a tissue or hankerchief to wipe their foreheads or noses. It's GROSS! I tried not watching, but I could hear poor Patrick Chan trying to hold back a sniffle. Ugggh.

I didn't know about that curse. Learn something new every day.
I don't know if it's an actual "curse," but there's definitely a pattern: Brian Orser World Champ 1987, Kurt Browning World Champ 1991, Kurt Browning World Champ 1993, Elvis Stojko World Champ 1997.
3x and spit, huh?

ITA. I don't think it reflected well on Patrick for taking shots at Brian at all. Just let other people talk and concentrate on your own skating.

I haven't been able to find the detailed judges scores, and I'm interested to see how they scored Joubert's combo - thought he had a hand down and an under-rotation. His spins seemed weaker than Lysacek's as well. I totally agree about the choreography too - nasty crap he was doing out there - and lots of it belonged in SOI, not Worlds. Pelvic grinding is so tacky too! Way too much posing for my liking. Lysacek seemed to be having trouble getting his jumps all the way around as well, though...
I loved Patrick Chan last night, and can't say that I've ever really taken note of him before. Also - did anyone else love Samuel Contesti? I missed him online, but universalsports.com has recaps available (THANK YOU NBC!), so I just watched and was totally captivated, as was the audience.

Thanks, Isk8NYC!
Looks like a messy 4toe (didn't get called for a hand down) doesn't trump a nice 3lutz. Lysacek lost the SP on his flip take-off. No big deal, as the points are really close.
