I know this team can't skate at Canadian Nationals ( :( ) because of residency requirements but is there any news on them? I'd love to know how they are progressing.

So sad that he can't skate this year at Canadians. Was it that hard for J-S to find a Canadian pairs partner. Was it really necessary to look abroad? I am being the devil's advocate here. Any guesses?

I don't doubt that it would have been difficult for J-S to find a partner here in Canada. Seems like all our female skaters who have the jumps to skate at the senior pairs level are committed to singles skating. J-S does have an advantage over some other guys in that he is quite tall so could skate with a taller partner and did have a taller partner with Valerie.
Some of our ladies who do quite well at junior or novice pairs - then hit a growth spurt or just don't develope that double axel, triple toe that is needed for senior pairs. The other thing is that girls that are younger than 19 and quite strong skaters want to stay junior so they are eligible for the junior grand prix.
I am sure that J-S has more than a one year plan with this new partner so I will be patient and wait to see them at the 2004 Canadians. However I was surprised that we haven't seen them at any summer/fall competitions. Anyone have an update?

Seb and his partner recently tested their senior pairs test (and passed, hehe :) ) Now they are re-focusing on the elements they didn't pay as much attention to while preparing for the test... I don't know if I should post anything else but they are doing well!!

Technically he wouldn't be taking the test again, he would be partnering his new partner while she was taking it. it's no big deal they have to work on a program anyhow.

Does anyone know how old J-S's new partner is and is she smaller than Valerie Saurette? I loved their look together although I know Valerie was quite tall for a pairs girl.

According to the 2001 Skate America program she was born Sept 1, 1981 and she's 5 feet tall.

Seb and Taco...HA HA HA....
We haven't had a real conversation in a while so I'll have to razz on him next time we talk. "So, you're a senior all over again, eh?" Ha ha...I shouldn't make fun of him....but I do :p
Cheers!
