We are looking for ideas on how to decorate the boards for our upcoming ice show. What do other centers use and how do you attach it? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Black plastic tablecloth rolls; attach with packing tape to the tops of the boards. You'll have to work around any doors that need to open and close during the show.
Measure from the ice to the top of the boards and order the rolls in that width.
Using a dark color with show lighting helps the background "disappear" on the photography and videos.

Depending on the theme, I've sometimes used those plastic room decor backgrounds you can get at party supply places. They cover the glass at our rink, but not the boards. I attach those, or any other sheeting we might be using, with those black alligator clips from office supply places.

Thanks for the Ideas. We have never decorated the boards for our Ice Show, but I think that it looks good when it is done. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. :D

We cover our boards with black plastic sheeting but we also add little lights (of the Christmas tree variety) along the top of the boards. We usually use white lights but this year we're using colored ones. They reflect into the plexiglass and look gorgeous! If you do it right, one piece of tape holds up both the plastic and secures the lights to the top of the boards. And if you like how the plastic looks, don't throw it away after the show - I've been using the same black plastic for four years now! It's a pain to roll it up again, but every penny counts (plus I would hate to throw away all that plastic).

We do the same thing, but instead of Christmas lights we use rope lights. We also have the sheeting from year to year.
