New guy questions

Hey guys, sorry for the annoying newbie questions and if i shouldnt be posting here but i just decided to get into this sport and got myself some skates and all that, just looking for some beginner tips or useful links.
Also need to know some stuff about blade sharpening, live in ireland so i dont know of many places around that actually do it so do yous think i could do it by myself? And how would i go about doing that? :)
