I never realized how good Nancy K. has become. It is like since she got married, had a child and went pro, she has blossomed. She has so much more animation in her skating and she looks finally as if she is really enjoying putting on a show for the audience. I also think Y. Sato (sp) is also a very lovely skater to watch. I didn't really think it was that grate of a show but it was the only thing on. Any comments? Any one else watch it again?

I caught parts of it. I was surprised to see some of the ladies wearing their costumes from Stars on Ice (Katarina, Tara). Seems like Stars would want those costumes used for their show only. Guess not!

I watched it because I missed it last time. I agreed that Nancy looked so good, she smiled so much during her number and I believed she landed a couple of triple jumps too.
Everyone was good, Katarina Witt did a good job selecting skaters for her show. This is the first time I really enjoy Tara's skating. Lori Nichol did a good job with her numbers.

I have a question regarding Divas that I hope somebody with ta tape of it can re-watch and answer...
In Nicole Bobek's "Fallin'" she did a Fratianne-version sit spin (sit spin holding her leg with her hands and pulling her head down to her knee). Then coming out of the spin she turned her right leg out, similarly to a broken leg spin, and somehow spun on the ice and got quickly back up. It was a very cool exit to the spin that I unsuccessfully tried on the ice the next morning because I couldn't remember exactly how she had don it.
Is anyone out there with a tape of Divas willing to look at that again and list a detailed play by play of how she got out of that spin? Thanks

Old costumes from previous SOI shows have been used a lot in other shows lately--they recently resurrected the 1996 SOI Beatles costumes for the recent Scott Hamilton and Friends show in Cleveland and during last year's Holiday Festival On Ice show in Kitchener, they pulled out the old "Rock This Town" 1998/99 SOI opening number outfits, the "Let's Get It On" 2000/01 SOI outfits, and the 1997/98 "Stairway To Heaven" outfits! They use a lot of old SOI group number costumes for the Skate The Nation tour, too.
After the end of each SOI tour, the skaters have the option of buying their own costumes from the show (Katia Gordeeva wore her old "Out Of Tears" outfit in a couple of Simsbury shows as a singles skater), but the costumes the skaters decide not to buy are catalogued and stored in a warehouse somewhere...for IMG to go through and use in future shows. I suppose it's much cheaper than designing two brand-new costumes that will each be only worn once by at least a dozen skaters for a "one-time-only" show! :)

I was knocked out by how strong and confident Nancy Kerrigan looked. Not only is she in superb physical shape, she's become a very relaxed and charming performer as a pro.
It was an excellent show with many good programs.
