I could be wrong. Please don't call me crazy, and I know that ticket prices for skating Shows/competitions are expensive. But when my Mom and I checked into the prices for the Stars on Ice 2008-09 Tour at the XL. Center in March next year, we couldn't believe it.. They are running about $65.00 seeing ants (the farest back), to about $300.00 front row, with the most expensive being on-ice at about $365.00 each!!! At that price...put us BOTH WITH the skaters!!! We also fond out that fearly decent seats would cost about $125.00-165.00 each!! I realize they factor everthing in. The Show, were it is,etc. But I can only say..that's a Show. If it was a commpetition...hook ME up with ALL the Disciplines. LOL. Anyone else?

I don't know where you're looking, but is it the Hartford, CT show March 15 2009? This link:http://starsonice.com/ASSETS/64080DEB55D240EE9107B44300E59478/25%20Hartford%20Adv.pdf has an order form (it's from the Stars ON Ice website) that has much lower prices. I don't know about Ticketmaster or anything like that, but all of the advance order forms on Stars On Ice are much lower (including Phoenix, where I am - on ice are $120)

I have 4 on ice seats for the Portland, ME show, and it did not cost $300 a ticket - more like $125, I think.

$125 still is a lot of money for what is essentially an ice-skating show. I'm not in anyway criticizing anyone that buy those tickets. Just saying that for myself I wouldn't spend that kind of money.

Sometimes groups get better rates and decent seats. Skating clubs, rec groups, and Special Olympics, etc. come to mind. Wouldn't hurt to ask if you're involved with those groups.

The on ice seats have had us sitting very close to Scott Hamilton, and one year we had a great interaction with the very lovely and gracious Sarah Hughes. We get to shake hands with quite a few of the skaters, get great treatment by the arena staff, and as a special treat, once a year, it's very worth it for me. I'm thinking some people spend the same amount for a month of cellphone service and fancy coffee...

We get a skating club group reduced price, and get to attend the dress rehearsal as well, which I thought was better than the show! I think I remember about $60 per ticket. This was in Portland, ME., though. I bet everything at the XL costs more as it's a better and more expensive facility.
