Fort Wayne Indiana will get a new 3 rink facilty next year. With the existing city owned rink, this will provide four public accessable rinks - I just hope figure skating is given a fair shake and doesn't have to take a back seat to all of the hockey activities which is big in the city.

They've been talking about this for some 30 years, I've heard (I've lived here for only 3). We have 2 NHL-size rinks plus a studio rink at the existing facility. The "older rink" that the article mentions is in fact dreadful. It was not designed to hold up as long as it has, and it's had some real problems in the last couple of years, so it would be great to convert it to some other use. It'll be interesting to see what happens with our club. Sure sounds like it'll be Hockey Central. Iiiinteresting that the management group is owned by the mayor's brother. <cough cough nepotism>

I think it'd be nicer if other health club facilities were there--a weight roomm workout room, etc--rather than yet more junky restaurants. Oh well.
