Ok - there are more unusual spins, and they obviously have names given to them too. Can someone point me to photos of the more unusual spins with names attached to them?

I think I have an idea what a cannonball is (variation of a sit), an illusion spin is like (kinda like a diagonal plane camel), not sure what a pancake is.

Also what's the best way to tell a butterfly from a death drop?

And what's the difference between Arabians and stars?

This is what Dick Button called a pancake spin:

And this one might be a little bit better view of it.

A death drop takes off like a jump (like an axel) with the skater standing up and then throwing the body up and over. In a butterfly the skater leans over then kicks the legs up behind them. The death drop is a bigger, more sweeping movement. Also, I have often seen butterflies done in succession but a death drop is just one big leap. I've never seen a deathdrop done in succession.

I thought butterflies were confused with/similar to Arabians, not death drops. And isn't a death drop usually an entry into a spin, while butterflies/Arabians are field moves?

Not necessarily...I can do a butterfly into a back camel or a sit spin. The difference between a death drop and a butterfly is the take-off: death drop you jump into it and butterflys are edges into it, and personally I think requires more laws of physics to work it right.
