Not sure if this is the write place to put it, since it's not really an article but right from the skaters website, but it interested me.

On a few websites there has been quite a bit of fuss that this pair (Carman and Knierim) have kept their long program for a third year. I thought this was a nice explanation. Not to mention very self-aware that it is really creepy when the pairs teams have such an age difference while the girl is so young. (And Brynn looks way younger than she really is.)

Some people have wondered why Chris and I are keeping our long program to "City Slickers" for a third year. Well, let me tell you why. Dalilah told us to keep it because it works. She also believes that since Chris and I only have one year of age eligibiltiy at the Jr. Grand Prix/Jr. World level we really need to be solid, polished and confident with high levels on everything. Also, since we are working on getting the quad twist in our program we need a program that we are very comfortable with. That element takes a lot out of both of us and we need a program we can trust.

We do feel we have worked with different creative styles during our partnership. For example, every year we have been together we have done a new short. Our first short was "Brain Bug" a techno style; our second short was "Chop Sticks" a classical style; and now we are doing "Chardiz" (sp?) a folkdance style. So as you can see we have done three completely different styles to develop our creative abilities. Also, people need to remember that Chris and I are seven years different in age and for us to do something romantic and lovey would be completely inappropriate. We will save that style for a later date.

The most interesting thing I read on their website is this:
She wears Jackson competitor boots with Pattern 99 blades. In the light of "how expensive figure skating is" conversation in the parents forum, this team with a novice championship under their belt has one of their skaters in low level stock boots that cost under $250. I mean I wear competitors.
